The Marblehead Village Council will host an informational meeting at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, May 21 in Braithwaite Auditorium at Danbury Local Schools. Purpose of the meeting is to present findings of a year-long water rate study and proposed rate increases. Consumer water rates have not increased in the village since 2009.
In determining new rates, village officials worked with representatives of Great Lakes Rural Community Assistance Program (RCAP) on a comprehensive study to ensure sufficient revenue for daily needs as well as reserves to fund future maintenance and capital projects. The study also considered potential benefits of obtaining water from the Ottawa County regional water system.
Village residents and property owners are encouraged to attend to receive information and also provide input on the proposed increase. Those attending should use the parking lot which can be accessed from Erie Beach Road on the east side of the school.
